Hi Hall , 💗Wishing you and Will a lovely Honeymoon. Istanbul has always been a fascinating city that I hope to visit someday for the exciting architecture & the food. Lovely that you are there now,

and thanks for introducing us to Turkish artists. I especially enjoy İpek Duben paintings. It seems that abstraction seems more popular than figuration in contemporary Turkish art.

You MUST visit—

I also love İpek Duben's work— she is multi-disciplinary, too, and makes art books and film. Definitely a new favorite!

What a great place for a honeymoon! And what a great new husband who wants to go out art looking 💯⭐️

In Palm Springs I visited the art museum and there was an exhibit by Kali the artographer. An amazing story of an artist living out of the public eye and making amazing work.

Awesome to hear!! I recently visited the Boise Art Museum in Idaho, which had an excellent exhibit "Silver Linings." I knew of many of the artists like Renee Cox, Faith Ringgold, Firelei Baez, Emma Amos, Lorna Simpson and Carrie Mae Weems (how incredible to see them together!!)...and also learned about many like Beverly Buchanan, Betty Blayton and Selma Burke. I was really blown away!

Love it! The Spelman art collection in Idaho— just so cool to think of all those women traveling from Georgia to Idaho. Spelman has an amazing collection of Black artists, as well as an amazing art education program. Glad to see the word is being spread far and wide.

P.S. I know a great Boise artist if you're still around town! Her name is Stephanie Wilde.

I'll have to look her up, though I'm home, always love new artists!
